It is our pleasure to announce that we have two of the Gogebic-Ontonagon ISD "Teachers of the Year" in the Bessemer Area Schools.
Mrs. Briana Kepich (left) was selected as the 2024-2025 K-12 Level General Music Teacher of the Year, and Ms. Diana Hansen (right) was selected as the 2024-2025 High School Teacher of the Year. Teachers were nominated by students, parents, or other members of the community and were chosen by a selection committee.
The letter each lady received states in part: "This prestigious recognition reflects your outstanding dedication to education and the significant impact you have made on your students and school community." It further states: "Your nomination highlighted your exceptional teaching practices, innovative methods, and commitment to student achievement. The selection committee was particularly impressed with your demonstrated excellence in the classroom, your creative approaches to learning, and your positive influence on student development."
Congratulations to both of these ladies and to all of the nominees. We are all lucky to have you as part of the BAS family!
